About Morúa

Morúa is an inde­pendent fashion label run by designer Gerry Quinton in North London.

The label spe­cialises in made to measure cor­setry, bespoke gowns and hand tailored garments.

Evoking romance through elegant tail­oring, timeless shaping and eclectic tex­tures, Morúa Designs is fresh and clean and full of personality.

Each piece is indi­vidually con­structed using fine materials such as 100% silk fabrics and merino wool. Touches such as French seams and metic­ulous hand stitching ensure that your hand made garment is extraordinary and as beau­tiful on the inside as out.

Most import­antly Gerry is ded­icated to making the exper­ience of having a custom-fitted garment per­sonal and enjoyable.

Gerry has an excellent fine art and fashion design edu­cation having graduated with BFA (honors) with Fashion Design focus from Columbia College Chicago. While at the University she com­pleted a pres­ti­gious intensive costume design course at CBS Studio Center in Los Angeles, California.

In the past she has worked for 1154 Lill Studios, a very suc­cessful cus­tomised hand bag company based in Chicago, and for upscale Chicago designer Pam Vanderline. Most recently she has taught CAD/CAM pattern drafting to stu­dents and high street man­u­fac­turers in the UK.
