This full service design option is perfect for creating a dress that simply doesn’t exist yet. You can choose from an existing design and customize it or order you own unique design. This may include research and development, design, sketches, fabric sourcing, illustrations, a new pattern created specifically for you and couture detailing and techniques. Prices for this service can vary greatly but will typically start at £1000.

This is Morúa’s most comprehensive wedding gown service. Have you admired an exquisite eighteenth century French court dress? Envisioned yourself in a sublime velvet medieval gown? Don’t know what you want? I can help you with that too.

Sketch for ClientMorúa bespoke bridal gowns are a labour of love. Inside and out your dress will be constructed with the utmost care, using high quality materials and time tested methods. Details such as hand stitched bust pads, skirts interlined with silk organza, and built in corselets set them apart from ordinary wedding gowns.

Ordering

If you would like to order a custom gown designed from scratch, it is essential that you order as far in advance as possible. Six months minimum is ideal, although you are welcome to ask in case I can fit you in. This is because since the gown will be created for the first time it is much more time consuming than a pre-existing style.

The Custom Experience

This highly personalised process begins with a design consultation. Based on your ideas and our conversation I will sketch out 3–4 dresses for you to choose from and modify as necessary. After a final sketch and fabric has been selected a final quote will be determined and the dress making process will begin.

A pattern will be drafted to your measurements and a cotton mock up will then be stitched from this pattern. To achieve the perfect fit a client needs to be available for two to three fittings including a final fabric fitting just before completion.
